Self-Compassion – Why I Love ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

Self-compassion may be foreign to many of us, but as I found in my own personal experience, it is a wonderful tool to help ourselves “self-soothe” and move forward in our lives when we are struggling and suffering. In this video I explain the importance of self-compassion and describe how to begin a self-compassion practice.

In ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), the type of therapy I offer, therapists are encouraged to self-disclose when we feel it could benefit others, especially our clients. I hope sharing my experiences might help normalize starting a self-compassion practice and the challenges you may experience in starting this yourself..
