In this video, I discuss online therapy and my previously held belief that it is a less desirable way of seeing a therapist. I discuss my own experience as a client and my surprise with the level of connection possible between client and therapist. I talk about how this experience not only changed my thinking, but also my career path.
In ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), the type of therapy I offer, therapists are encouraged to self-disclose when we feel it could benefit others, especially our clients. I hope sharing my experiences might help normalize getting therapy in general and make others aware of the many benefits of online counseling/therapy in particular.
